Rachel Kay-Creative Director:Movement Direction:Faclitator
-Rachel gained a first class (BA) Honours degree from Bird College in 2004. Rachel has worked professionally in the industry for 14 years gaining experience, knowledge and expertise in all areas of the Arts, which now underpins her choices and the method she has created to facilitate her own career and other artists/creatives.
-Creative Director and founder of Creation Box London, a multi-functional studio for the arts in Waterloo, aiming to provide a space for artists to grow, explore and evaluate their creative practise.
Creation Box London was established in 2013 and has provided a safe space for creatives and dancers to evolve as human beings and artists for over the past five years.
-Rachel Kay is a choreographer and Movement director with expertise in all areas of the Dance and Creative industry. Her current focus is aligning her Flight Mode facilitation method with her creative work to create a series of works reflecting the transparency of the self and fully embracing the creative individuals, she works with, to create honest and raw works for theatre and outside ventures. Rachel has experience as a choreographer in the Contemporary, Commercial and Musical Theatre world spanning years of experience in each to create specific works for the environments she works within.
-Rachel is a mentor and creator of the Flight Mode Method a facilitation tool to aid dancers and creatives to find a honest connection with their human and artistic voice. A series of questions posed to encourage conversation aids the persons thinking, giving clarity to their purpose, outlook and creative process. These conversations are then embodied in to movement to provide an honest convesation with themselves and their movement language.
Rachel has also devised mentoring programmes for emerging choreographic talent at Creation Box London and continues to mentor for organisations such as Artists4Artists, Runway House and leading professional training institutions.
